Where’s the special Halloween part, the pumpkins, the skulls, spider webs?
Well, here in The Netherlands we don’t (yet) celebrate it in that spectacular, playful
and colourful way as in other parts of the world… So nothing like that today!
Danse Macabre a Chapelle in Brittany painted between1483 and 1501
midnight every year on Halloween. “Death” calls for the dead from their graves to
dance for him while he plays his fiddle (represented by a solo violin).
His skeletons dance for him until the rooster crows at dawn, when they must return
to their graves until the next year…

composer Camille Saint-Saëns. It is an artistic genre of late-medieval allegory on
unites all. Produced to remind people of the fragility of their lives and
how vain were the glories of earthly life.
That was my inspiration for designing a little little bracelet…
pewter, lava stone and copper bead caps to represent the maid
and some small pearls for the child…
